Company History

Waldo was formed in April 1984 by Jim Dows and Phil Walmsley to supply the corrugated case industry with hand engraved rubber stereos. In 1987 due to increased demand for improved quality, Waldo installed its first liquid plate making system. As time passed it was clear that the established methods of artwork creation needed to be replaced by a digital artwork studio, this was implemented in 1990.

Further growth and demand encouraged Waldo to widen its range of services and in 1992 production of solid photopolymer plates was introduced, for use in a wide range of flexo applications. As more systems became digital and computers being used more widely in the workplace, Waldo completed the digital picture by investing in digital plate making and screened digital proofs.

Since its beginnings, Waldo has always strived to build lasting partnerships with customers to ensure that their needs are met and eventually exceeded while continually investing in new technology to be at the forefront of the flexographic industry.
